The M61 interchange has an even larger roundabout than the M6 junction. The viaduct crossing it is future-proofed to carry three lanes each way, but to this day only carries two, with a double-width hard shoulder occupying the rest of the space. Towards the top right of the picture, the Walton Summit Motorway links back to Tramway Lane.
