The M61 interchange is barely an outline on the ground, but work is well advanced on the new Brindle Road overbridge across the M61. Its completion was needed as early as possible in the project so the existing Brindle Road bridge, in the middle of the picture, could be demolished. The old bridge stood in the way of the northernmost bridge of the future M61 interchange.
