The emerging shape of the M61 interchange is clearly visible here. On the right, the old Brindle Lane Bridge is no longer carrying traffic, the road having been permanently closed. In the foreground, a building that is shortly to be demolished is overshadowed by a new concrete retaining wall that will form the end of the long viaduct structure.
