The farm underpass (at the bottom) and the culvert (in the middle distance) are both nearing completion, and now awaiting earthworks on top. To the top right, one of the controversial borrow pits can be seen - land off the motorway excavated to provide material for the embankments along the road's length. The pits near Brindle were particularly unpopular with locals.
