The new Brindle Road bridge, at the bottom of the picture, has its deck in place, but work remains to be done. Completion of this bridge at an early stage of the project is important to allow the existing Brindle Road bridge, in the middle of the picture and crossing the M61 at an angle, to be demolished. That, in turn, will allow a bridge to be built in its place that will carry the north side of the new roundabout at the M61/M65 interchange.
