The A823(M) is a tiny spur from the M90, just north of the Forth Road Bridge, that connects South Dunfermline to the river crossing and the motorway network.
It was the UK's only single-carriageway motorway, and twenty years ago it ceased to exist. This is the story of the strange fascination it held, and of my place in history.
